Procreate

For this weekly task, I had to create a logo and then animate it. I could use any of the free-to-download 3D animation tools/software or adobe programs, but I chose to use Procreate as it was the app I was most comfortable using at at that time.

The logo I chose to create was the first version of the logo of my personal brand, as I found it useful to use this task to create something for my brand.

My logo at the time, as seen on the right, was an illustrative floral design that integrates the letters R and D which stand for ‘Rodothea Designs.’ I chose to use a floral design as I love flowers of all kinds, especially peonies, which are the flowers in my logo.

Above are all 36 frames that make up the stop frame animation.

To create the animated logo I used the 36 frames shown in the previous slide and used the ‘animation assist’ in procreate as shown in the first screenshot.

Then I adjusted the settings choosing the ping-pong animation and setting it to 30 frames per second.

What I believe went well with this task is that even though I never animated before using any program, I still achieved to create an animated logo that I am proud of.

I was surprised to see how easy it was to animate designs on procreate and I know that I will keep practising with this feature and keep developing my animation skills.
