COFFEE LOVER
Brief
Design and produce a promotional flyer in which colour is explored and emphasises the information to be portrayed.
IDEA
I chose to design a promotional flyer advertising a new coffee shop that just open called ‘Coffee Lover’ here in Winchester.

Here are some existing flyers that I have found on Pinterest in order to get some inspiration.
I especially like the more simplistic and minimalistic look that these poster have and the fact that is gets the promotional information across without being to heavy on the design and information.
Above are my sketches for potential deigns for the flyer. I chose to go with the first design as I particularly like the idea of steam coming out of the coffee cup and believe that would make for a more aesthetic and simplistic design.
Since the focus of this task was to use colour to explore and emphasise the information shown on the flyer, I chose to use a mixture of colours that are monochromatic, copper and bistre, and colours that are analogous like bistre, antique bronze and english lavender.
Looking back on this task I can honestly say that it was very enjoyable. I particularly liked the freedom to chose what to design the flyer for and it felt like there where no restrains to what I could do design wise. I also enjoyed using Illustrator and become more familiar with the program.
What I believe I could improve upon is making my designs more realistic rather than illustrative, but I wanted to use illustrator to make sure I get more and more familiar with the program.
